OUR mission & vision

WE EXIST TO GLORIFY GOD BY TRANSFORMING A DIVERSE PEOPLE INTO A UNITED PEOPLE THAT REACHES ALL PEOPLE FOR CHRIST.

JESUS DESIRES US TO BE HIS MULTIRACIAL FAMILY THAT DISPLAYS THE KINGDOM OF GOD TO THE WORLD.

OUR CORE VALUES

MISSIONAL. We value the call of God to reach all people for Christ (Acts 1:8, Matt. 28:19), equip believers to help others mature towards unity in faith (Eph. 4:12), and train people to teach others (2 Tim. 2:2).

OBEDIENT. We value the Bible because through it we can know God (1 Jn. 2:4-6). The Bible is God's guide towards a holy life (Ja. 1:25) for our good and God's glory.

SURRENDERED. We value living by faith because God called us to trust Him fully for our needs (Matt. 6:30), direction (Prov. 3:5-6), and future (Jer. 29:11).

ACCEPTING. We value a community that accepts all people because Jesus modeled that for us when He did life with those on the margins. We accept people who have different views than ours on secondary issues (Rom. 14:1-13). We love because God loves.

INTERDEPENDENT. We value dependency upon each other as members of God's family because each of us is uniquely created by God (Ps. 139:13-14), is given spiritual gifts from God to build up the body of Christ (Rom. 12:3-8, 1 Cor. 12:14-26, Eph. 4:11-13), and need each other for prayer (Ja. 5:16), carrying each other's burdens (Gal. 6:1-2), and holding each other accountable in living for God (Heb. 12:15).

CONSECRATED COMMUNICATION. We value conversations that positively build people up (Eph. 4:29), are seasoned with grace and truth, and bring people closer to God (Col. 4:5-6).

OUR STORY

REV. DR. EDWARD M. LEE

Founding Pastor

May 1959-May 2021

In 1996, God convicted Pastor Ed of the problem of racism in the church. A pioneer of his time, Pastor Ed followed God's call and moved from Dallas to Houston to help a Chinese American church establish a multi-ethnic congregation. In 2006, Pastor Ed planted Mosaic Community Covenant Church with the Evangelical Covenant Church in Sugar Land, TX. Pastor Ed served faithfully as the founding and lead pastor of Mosaic for 15 years, discipling, teaching, and preaching about God's heart for the church's unity as its witness to a fractured world (John 17 & Ephesians). We at Mosaic seek to continue Pastor Ed's legacy in being a transformed, united people that reaches all people for Christ.
